Over the past years, Laurène Gitton has been going back and forth between art and stage design practice, each contaminating the other.
After graduating in Art at Goldsmiths University in London (UK), she assisted several stage designers on broadway musicals produced by the Châtelet theatre in Paris from 2013 to 2017. She then was granted with residencies at the Ateliers Medicis (France) and the Geumcheon Art Space in Seoul (South-Korea). She became in 2019 an artist associate at Open School East in Margate.
She explores ideas of installations that re-interpret cultural phenomenas, found objects, the internet, and dreamworlds, to bring them into strange narratives.
